Kindful Kids Weekly

Quote of the Week

"Simplicity is the essence of happiness." --Cedric Bledsoe

Simplicity Leads To Happiness In Children

Simplicity is a rare gift in modern life. But, deep down, all parents know when our kids are overwhelmed we have the power to help by silencing the noise, lifting their spirits and making them feel safe.  Slowing down feeds our souls and nurtures our families.  Whether it's decluttering, reducing the number of commitments on your kids' schedules, or just spending unstructured time in nature, this week's featured article provides practical suggestions for incorporating more simplicity into family life.

Title: The Berenstain Bears Think of Those in Need
By: Stan and Jan Berenstain
Recommended Ages: 3-8

I've loved reading the Berenstain Bears books since I was a little kid and then sharing them with my young child. In this book, the Bear family goes through the process of decluttering and promotes simple living.  It also highlights the ways in which "stuff" can weigh us down and shares an important lesson in giving to others.
