Kindful Kids Weekly

Quote of the Week

"In the stillness of silence, we hear the whispers of the soul." Ancient Proverb

When A Whisper Sparks Sweet Friendship

Life invites us to spread love and kindness everyday in myriad ways. If we can give ourselves and our children an open-hearted permission to spontaneously respond with joy then simple everyday interactions can turn into lovely relationships.

This week we share the story of this little boy who asked a woman in wheelchair how to do wheelies and how it ended up sparking sweet friendship. Hannah Hutzley was shopping in her wheelchair when she heard a little boy whisper, “Hi… do you know how to do wheelies?” It was the moment both their lives changed for the better. [See Video]

Title: Stillwater and Koo Save the World
By: John J Muth
For: Age 4+

Today feels full of opportunities! “What would you like to do?” Stillwater asks Koo.

“Something important! Fix all the things that are wrong! Let us save the world,” says Koo (who always speaks in haiku).

But this is a very big idea for a little panda.

During the course of the day, Koo discovers that it’s the little acts of kindness that all add up to help make the world a better place.

In a story brimming with love and light, Jon J Muth shows how we can all heal the world a little bit at a time ? just the right message for now, and for always!

Be The Change

Today, give yourself full permission to spontaneously respond with kindness, love and joy to turn mundane actions into a celebration.

For inspiration, check out the "Superhero" song by Nimo Patel and Daniel Nahmod which is a celebration of the power of kindness. No need for a cape and mask to change the world. We can all do it, one small kind act at a time. [See Music Video]
