The Real Luxury In Cancun

My friend who was in Cancun for a Multinational Telecom company conference decided to give up his five star luxuries to be with me. As soon as he finished his presentation he made an extra effort to leave Cancun as soon as possible so that he could fly to DC and spend quality time with me. We had not seen each other in for more than 8 years.  By leaving Cancun behind, he not only left the luxuries of a five star hotel and enchanting beaches, but he also gave up the opportunity to network with the who's who of the Telecom world.

In return for his sacrifice, I took my dear friend on a walkathon:)  We walked all over DC and caught up on the good old days with nostalgic memories. The next morning we both were extremely soar and exhausted.  I asked him whether he missed his 40 K sq feet spa and jacuzzi in the hotel. He said "Not at all, I am really glad I made this choice. I have traveled to 24 countries and this is one of my best trips. In all of the other trips, I was only focused on seeing places and  landmarks and never had the change to engage with the people in the places that I was visiting.  It is different traveling with a friend and especially connecting on a deeper level."

He was really blown away with the time we shared together, how we were both present in the moment, and how special it turned out.
