On the world environment day, kiddies at project learnt different upcycling ideas: Creating cost- effective and eco friendly paper dustbins and curtains out of old newspapers. Most of the kids were happy learning about upcycling and were coming up with fun creative ideas of making cupboards, painted tire swings and wall decors out of old newspapers. But 2 of the kids, Bhavesh and Kalpesh love spending time in outdoor activities rather than sitting, doing some art work. They were not showing much interest and gave up on the activity of making dustbin. I constantly maintained patience and tried to involve them in the activity by motivating them, giving them back-rub and hugs if they failed to make a nice piece. After trying 6-7 times, to my surprise they learnt innovative and easy technique and started enjoying it and ended up making 4-5 pieces each required to complete the dustbin structure.
All of them are thrilled and trying their best to make their classroom look cheerful and in a way learning new uses for old things.
