At Friday's noontime meditation circle at Trinity Church, elder Joseph opened as usual with a story to ground us in a silent, still space. This week he shared the tale of a man who walked into a store, where he could ask for anything he want and receive it for free. The man was taken with surprise and joy, and he asked, "Can I have peace and happiness for myself and for everyone in the world?" The shopkeeper answered, "Oh, I'm sorry, you don't understand. We don't sell fruits here, only seeds." With that reminder to be careful of the seeds that we water, we all closed our eyes and shared the silence for the next 30 minutes. :)
