On the Eye of the Whale Event with Bryant Austin:
Thank you all for making such a wonderful experience possible! It was such a pleasure spending the day together. Each of you showed up in the spirit of generosity with hearts wide open. I would like to share one more little story. A few months ago, I had an experience which I did not fully comprehend until meeting Bryant and each of you and hearing all the soulful, passionate stories.
I was walking along the beach on a beautifully chilly, foggy morning. This is one of my favorite activities to do alone because I always feel so calm and protected, like I am home. For some reason however, this particular meditative stroll filled with divine chanting was bringing up bubbles of surprising fear. I was so lost in these mixed emotions that I didn’t realize how far I walked and that my hands were numb from the cold air. I turned around and headed back towards the starting point with a quicker pace. The low visibility atmosphere with no other humans in sight was definitely a dreamy wonder, except I was still feeling unsettled in my body. I heard and felt something behind my shoulder so I whipped my head around to see what was behind me, but there was nothing. Several minutes later, I heard a rushing sound coming from the ocean and then I saw the water spout, followed by the back side and then the fluke of a humpback whale! I was frozen in time as I watched two or three more whales dance on the surface. This was my first time ever to see a whale. I grew up by the ocean and have always desired to see a whale so my excitement was soaring in that moment. Along with that childlike excitement, I also felt afraid.
Thanks to Bryant, I now understand the fear of the unknown a bit more. I sensed the presence of the humpbacks before they surged up for a breath of fresh air. This overwhelming love became apparent in one single wave as I plunged into its vast existence. These whales are the biggest sacred creatures I have ever seen and I only saw the parts above the waves. What mysterious beauty exists beneath the surface! Divine mother made her presence known that day. She reminded me to trust in divine love, especially in the dark moments of the deep sea. There is always a creature of God moving in the universe of the waves. I will continue to dive in the depths of the ocean to welcome this sacred heartbeat, for there will always be a lighthouse revolving ashore. Thank you all for casting your rays of light and deepening the present moment of solitude on this spiritual sojourn. As the daily mysteries continue to unfold, may we all remain divinely connected in that quiet dwelling place of God, which whales call home. Deep in the quiet, we are that sacred space. There is no place like home.
Whale hugs filled with love,
Kara
