Kabir And The Miscreant
Kabir, the fifteenth century mystic poet saint from India wrote (in Hindi)...
Burra jo dekhan main chala
Burra na milya koi
Jo dil khoja apna,
Mujh sa burra na koi.
When I went out to search for the miscreant,
I did not find anyone bad.
Then I searched within my own heart,
And found the inner miscreant, naughtiest of them all.
He wrote this before the modern science-studies about how we project on our outer world, what is within us. And how transforming the inner world can change our experience of the outer world.
