As we get ready for another Awakin Circle tonight, few of us were reflecting on a really powerful circle last week (with stories like Aryae singing his brother out) ... and this touching share from a gentleman who, after dinner, said, "Being here today has changed my life."

Hello everyone, my name is Joshua. This is my first time here, also. And it's been a miraculous experience for me. When I was in meditation, this question came through, which was, basically: where am I not being as compassionate as I could be?

The response that came was this: towards my stepmother. I realized that I'm civil towards her, but I don't think I've ever truly included her, in my heart or in our family.

Then, another question arose which was something like: how positive am I towards her? Even just in my own mind. And more broadly, how much of my mental space is actually positive? I figured it was like 20%. That was a hard thing for me to realize, and yet really beneficial.

During meditation, I was just praying and saying to my step mother, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for not including you, in my heart and in our family."

As I've been listening to everyone here, the prayer has become something like, "I promise. I promise to be as kind as I possibly can be, in all of our interactions from here on out."

Thank you, all, for helping me and my family.
