How do social networks affect human psychology? Here goes a fascinating account on how social networks may be counterintuitive to the way we human beings and other apes tend to spontaneously organize our social life.

I wonder what the implications of this are in terms of building global social movements and decentralized networks…
I also wonder how can I at last summon the courage to quit Facebook! I want to live more in the "analogical" world, spend time with the people by me, and focus on cultivating deep conversations and meaningful soul-to-soul connections.
I believe quiting Facebook would help me to achieve this goal but there are some things I find hard to let go: a couple Facebook groups I do enjoy, some nice group pictures, some far away friends I don´t want to lose contact with... The rest of it (including mass surveillance and targeted advertising), I would live much better without.
Does this happen to you too? Have you succeeded in making a productive and healthy use of Facebook? Or maybe did you quit it altogether?
