The Infinite Gifts

Small practices cultivated
Awaken our awareness

I made a daily ritual
To bring a bit of a wild plant
To brighten up my workplace
As I walked to work through parks

I noticed the vegetation more
To humbly ask for permission
As to who wanted to go with me
From the infinite bounty

Some days it was a fallen twig
Another day a weed with bright blooms
The spiky architectural forms with seeds
The five-pointed leaves in neon
A bush with maroon leaves
Purple flowers from a wall
Oily shiny dual shaded leaves
One with tender lacy frills
Each day a unique delight

Such infinite variety
Everyday a new delight
I could not even name them
How could I have been so blind
To not have been curious sooner?

Nature has infinite gifts
If we choose to notice
Within us and outside
To Awakin when we like
