Late Last Week, At The End ...

Late last week, at the end of a hectic business trip, I boarded a shuttle bus at Heathrow airport that would take me to my hotel for an overnight stay prior to my return home to the US.

I knew I didn't have any cash remaining but checked at the terminal before heading to the bus stop that the driver would accept a credit card. Upon boarding the bus, however, the driver exclaimed that the CC machine was inoperable. I was scrambling to find any coins in my bag to cover the 5 GBP charge but couldn't find any when unexpectedly a stranger (Conrad from San Fran) seeing my predicament from the bus stop stepped in and handed the driver a 5 pound note!

I was overwhelmed and grateful. Conrad is a kind and generous man...he saw my tired self, considered the late hour and the fact that the bus ran once every half hour, and helped me out without expecting anything in return. Before I could get his contact details or learn more about him, we were off. All I remember him saying - no problem buddy...just help out someone else in need.

Thank you, Conrad!
