Jay Davidson is no stranger to the significant, often life-shattering consequences of alcoholism. That's why he founded The Healing Place, a residential facility for alcohol and substance abuse recovery in Louisville, Kentucky. Modeled after the 12-Step Program, the shelter provides peer-to-peer support to participants, who live together for 9 months, go to AA meetings together, and support one another in the journey toward recovery. The program has seen 2,300 graduates in the 17 years since its inception, and is renowned worldwide for its astounding recovery rate that's five times the national average.
