Last monday, about a dozen Berkeley CFers had the privilege of going to the book release of "Walk out, Walk on". It was a beautiful evening. What was very interesting to me was how the substance of the book seems to be intimately connected to gift-economy principles- in action, in developing countries. The shifts they spoke about included going from Scaling Up to Scaling Across, from Power to Play, from Problem to Place, from Efficiency to Resilience, from Transacting to Gifting, from Intervention to Friendship and from Hero to Host.  They gave a shout out to CF too, when they were speaking about the gift-economy.  It is very inspiring to know that gift culture is spreading to outside of the US (and mostly the Bay Area) & India, into other parts of the world. The two main things that I learned: 1) find the points of light and expand them; 2) when we help others discover their own goodness/ wholeness/ power, that's the benchmark of servant leadership. I'm still meditating on those two things and can't wait to read the book!
