Colin, thanks for this thoughtful essay. Your sharing about the shift in the question you’re holding is really helpful to me. I too concluded that it doesn’t have to be all or nothing, that I can work for pay in some situations and freely give of my talents (giftivism) in other situations. Working for pay so I can afford a house and food doesn’t negate the love inherent in the gifts I offer.
