i am in process of remodeling my old 3bdr brick ranch house where by i live by myself unless my recently graduated one child and his wonderful serious girlfriend stay with me while getting their post - college lives underway
in this difficult year of pandemic, black lives matter, the trump problem or perhaps symptom of underlying disfunction, i have begun to envision or invoke the themes of circles and of sanctuary
the idea of a regular small group in my home arounded my round old table with a place empty for those who should be here but are not or no longer, for a gently and hopefully and wisely facilitated conversation across and around a divide — by color? age? faith? politics? unsure — through which hearts are opened and minds filled with fresh perspective and new connections, as my country struggles to right our past wrongs
and people feel refreshed via the divine grace and peace of God which i hope to fill my home, where all who enter may leave with something specialky and necessary that they didn’t have before and ste the better for this experience of respite and illumination, and can carry back to share within their own circles
i came across this awakin website while searching for einstein’s quote on living as if everything is a miracle, and im utterly delighted and inspired by this story of Faith: this generous and wise couple opening their home to strangers in this peace-promoting weekly ritual of sharing silence and sustenance together:
MANY THANKS!!
for this inspiration!!
and long may this powerful tradition continue!!
YES! AMEN! YAY!
