I really love this perspective!! Sign me up for "higher learning" in reverence and gratitude!! Kimmerer is so right on - "The relationship of gratitude and reciprocity... can increase the evolutionary fitness of both plant and animal. A species and a culture that treat the natural world with respect and reciprocity will surely pass on genes to ensuing generations with a higher frequency than the people who destroy it." And here are more of her strong and beautiful words worthy to repeat; "A great longing is upon us, to live again in a world made of gifts.
