Heard this interesting KQED program today: Celebrating 50 years of the Wilderness Act. Turns out there is a lovely "Visions of the Wild" festival starting in Vallejo, Sep 3-6. In the festival, they will showcase a film called Standing on Sacred Ground: Pilgrims and Tourists, which showcases the Native American perspective. Thought this might be of interest to the community here. I was a little taken aback when at one point in the radio show, one of the guests was asked about reparations to the Native American community, and he pretty much said it could not be done. There was a genocide here. It was depressing, but I feel there is more than just a reparation viewpoint. The Native American community has so much to offer with a living viewpoint, so I called in at the last minute and made a comment on that note (you can listen from 27:00). Got cutoff by the host before I could talk about John Malloy's work. :)
