Family Lab: Gather and Grow
Walton-on-Thames (Surrey)
You are warmly invited to join for our first-ever Family Lab!
Children, how often do you find yourself frustrated by your parents’ inability to properly pay attention and listen to you without being distracted by their phones, cooking dinner or trying to multitask in some way? Parents, when was the last time you got past quick one-word answers to your questions about how your children’s day was and managed to have a heart-to-heart conversation, where they opened up to you? How can we all slow down and take the time to listen to each other and connect with open hearts, when we live in a society that rewards efficiency, designs for speed and leaves us feeling disconnected from each other and even from ourselves?
Join us on Sunday, May 5th from 2:30-5:00pm for our first Family Lab event, where we will explore the art of listening, an essential skill especially in families :) We plan to learn more about listening as a practice and do many fun practical exercises and games to explore how listening to our bodies can be a tool that enables us to listen more mindfully to ourselves and each other, and how to listen with our hearts to our fellow family members.
About Family Labs
There are many aspects of our day-to-day lives which keep families apart, including school, work, afterschool activities, etc. Family Lab events aim to bring everyone together in a fun space, where parents and children can gather and grow, and learn from each other with a community of like-minded friends. Given the nature of the activities, children 4-16 will benefit the most and engage in the activities independently. However, if you need to bring a younger sibling along, they can tag along with you during the activities ☺️
Register below for each parent attending and use this link to register each child attending, to help us plan logistics.
We can’t wait to see you at this inaugural Family Lab event! ❤️
With gratitude,
Trishna, Claire and Ankita
