Last week, late at night Deep and I discovered a little bag. We thought maybe someone had left it behind accidentally so we peeked in from the top to see what it was so we could return it. Much to our surprise, we found a card with Deep's name and our flat number written on it, looked like someone had hand-delivered a little something! :) Deep opened the card and a smile appeared on his face as he read a really sweet anonymous note thanking him for making it possible for me to hold space in the various ways we do in our home, accompanied by a heart-shaped box of truffles :) He immediately tried to guess who it was from, and I told him someone was probably feeling especially grateful, but I had no idea who it was from.

I guessed it was probably a ripple in someone's heart from many of the recent gatherings at our home including a full-day retreat!  Just a couple of weeks ago, we were hosting a Wednesday meditation at home and Deep had a stressful deadline looming that week. As always, he came home from the office for a few hours to be with the girls and put them to bed while I hosted the gathering.  However this time, instead of joining us for dinner, he waited until they were fast asleep, and then said goodbye to everyone as he headed back to the office to work through the night to meet the deadline for his deal. When some of the guests asked me where he was headed and learned he was going back to the office, they looked really surprised and were thankful that he would do this to enable us to open our home for Wednesday meditations.

It was lovely to see his reaction at being tagged anonymously -- he was visibly touched and caught off-guard because it's not often that he is thanked by others for all the behind-the-scenes ways that he supports my service journey, which enables me, among other things, to open up our home (with two little kids!) for different gatherings. Feeling grateful for all the behind-the-scenes anchors, like Deep, who quietly support the journeys of others without expecting anyone to notice. :)
