I sent messages of "З Днем Незалежності Українi" (Happy Independence Day of Ukraine) to all of my Ukrainian friends, both still in Ukraine and here in the 'States. Got a bouquet of sunflowers, the national flower of Ukraine, and delivered them to my Ukrainian neighbors yesterday -- they were delighted and it's always nice to see them and chat with them, lovely people <3 Stopped at a gas station for a Gatorade and saw a man in the parking lot changing a moving truck's tire. His slow, weary movements spoke of pain and fatigue. Without hesitation, I offered him a chair so he could rest. The old man sat down, his face easing into comfort as the burden on his legs lifted. To make him feel even more at ease, I ordered a cup of tea for him. When the steaming cup was placed before him, he smiled gently, his eyes shining with gratitude. He looked at me, raised the cup slightly, and said, “Thank you.” That single word carried warmth far greater than the tea itself. In that moment, I realized how small gestures — offering a seat, sharing a cup of tea — can bring immense relief and joy to someone in need. The house was 31 degrees C at night so I was beginning to feel unwell. On the occasion of Independence Day, We were organizing a celebration program in a community ground. And we were about to hoist the flag at that moment a village woman came to us and requested for flag hoisting. She had very deep feelings for this and looked very excited. So we have to stop our guests and give her an opportunity to flag hoisting. And we invited her with respect to the hoist flag. To hear this, her eyes filled with tears and emotions. She hoisted the flag very proudly and gave a very inspiring speech. She also thanked us for this opportunity. We also felt very happy and proud.
