KindSpring.org: Small Acts of Kindness http://www.helpothers.org/ Extraordinary, positive changes are happening all around the world and are often overlooked. These are stories of smile cards, that encourage small acts of anonymous kindness around the globe. inspiration, kindness, good news, service en-us pif@helpothers.org Sunshine One of my guests at the moment is 77 years old and I see that sometimes he spends a long time sitting in the living room not doing much at all. As the weather is getting better here I took out some chairs from the shed and left them near the back door. I told him he could use them whenever he wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sunshine. I protected them with an easy to pull cover. Today he's happily sitting in the sun, near the back trees, listening to the birds and relaxing. I think he even had a nap there :-) He looks very happy indeed!... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209861 Sun, 07 Jun 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Baked A Loaf For My Neighbors :) I met some neighbors several weeks ago and learned they're from Ukraine! When we met I practiced what little of the language I know (now studying with Duolingo and enjoying that growth) and applauded them on their English. They've been here in the States for about 18 months, their hometown having now been completely destroyed by the ruzzians. Today I baked an extra loaf of sourdough and walked it over to them. My toddler was with me and, coincidentally, wanted to carry around his Герой Car (hero car, sent to him from my friend in Ukraine). My neighbors were delighted and excited about the bread, and my son was excited to show them his truck. :)... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209858 Sun, 07 Jun 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Bought This Beautiful Book Bought this beautiful book to have at home, enjoy and share. I left it by the breakfast bar and already one of my guests told me he enjoyed reading a poem on the day of his birthday. Such a lovely way to start the day! I shall find some to share with you all as well ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209859 Sun, 07 Jun 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Donation I was able to do a simple kindness yesterday. I was out in Ilkley and it was very windy, and I headed towards one of the churches. They have several restrooms which are open to the public for a small donation. I used them when I arrived and then went into the church because it is quiet. After I'd eaten my lunch, I used the restrooms again. I didn't have many coins so I put the £5 note so it would help others to use it who couldn't afford to make a donation.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209860 Sun, 07 Jun 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Donation While Enjoying A Football Match I recently went to watch the local club's football match. While getting myself something to eat I spotted the food bank stand. I went up to them and asked about their activities in the area and how they distribute the food to the needy. I was moved to donate a small amount to support their work to feed the needy.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209862 Sun, 07 Jun 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Knitting Tradition Knitting a baby jacket and bootees for a family member who is pregnant and lives in another state. Only met them this month at mother in law's 90th birthday. Mother in law usually knits something for her grandchildren to send them before their birth, but she is suffering from arthritis and cannot really accomplish making items, so I have made them and will drop them over to her over the weekend and she can post them on.. A bit of a joint effort that keeps her tradition alive.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209843 Sat, 30 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Honesty At The Vegetable Shop Kindness at the Vegetable Shop I bought some vegetables today. When I gave 500 Rupee note the shopper gave me 300 Rupees back. Usually I pocket the money and walk out. My intuition helped me be on the right path of honesty. I asked the shopper, how much was the total? He told me but due to hearing problem I was not able to hear. Lady standing next to me told me it is 290 Rupees. That I just guessed from lip reading that it is over 200 Rupees. So, I showed shopper that he gave me more back. He realized his mistake and took 100 Rupees back and gave me 10 Rupees back. I gave quote cards to the lady. I thank Sai Baba for helping me to be honest. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209842 Sat, 30 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700
