It was 45 days after my cataract surgery. My eyes were checked thoroughly and I was given prescription for glasses. I gave personalized bookmarks for my Ophthalmologist, his brother and father Ophthalmologists as well. His face lighted up with smile. He thanked me. I gave him Fatemah story to read and gave bunch of quote cards to the receptionist on his request. I gave him a book on positive thinking and my story published by author Ramesh Tanna to get inspired to do more kindness. I told him that my Dentist paid me to get some books to gift his patients. He thanked me profusely after I delivered them that I bought from the bookstore.  I cracked some jokes with him.  The image may have some different quote cards and a book.  I thank Sri Sathya Sai Baba for sending me kindness opportunities to and helping and guiding to  manifest them. I firmly believe that He is the real doer. I am just an instrument in His hands.  ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209809 Wed, 06 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Kindness Quote Card Display At The Fruit Shop Kindness at the Fruit Shop While having morning walk, I bought some fruits. What a super day we had. I start my shifts next week and I very much look forward to it. It's heart warming to see how many people are helping to get it going and turn it into a beautiful place for the community to gather. It'll have the Cafe (where I'll be helping) and be open during the day for all sorts of activities. Another chance to be part of the community and connect. One of the team members has been entertaining us with the photos generated with AI :-) ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209808 Wed, 06 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Longtime Friends Longtime friends will be coming over the end of March to help celebrate my husband’s 80th birthday. They are coming with their son (whom we’ve known since he was born) & his just turned 2 daughter. So I ordered this little toddler chair, shown in this picture, so she’ll have a place to sit & they can take it home with them. 🐶 I also have a little stuffed dog to give her. They tell me she loves stuffed animals and she hugs hers & talks to them :))) We have been friends for over 50 years. Looking forward to being together. ❤️ ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209801 Sun, 03 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Wildfire Update Dear KindSpring friends, thank you for your thoughts, prayers and concern during the ongoing wildland Qury Fire in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota, USA that began Thursday afternoon, March 12th, 2026. Excerpt from🔥Daily Update for March 19, 2026🔥: “Cause: Under Investigation Size: 9,161 acres (14.32 miles) Containment: 44% Personnel: ~328 Current Situation: Containment lines are holding, but the interior of the fire is still burning. Red flag warning.” Local restaurants have been providing meals for the firefighters, plus donations of snacks and beverages are currently being accepted at the armory, where we dropped off some megapacks of assorted energy bars yesterday. Offers of help and support continue to inundate the Custer community, from free housing, to boarding horses, chickens, etc… We were fortunate not to be evacuated, but many were, and at its closest, we were only 2 miles from the flames. Volunteering at a local foodbank last weekend, we learned firsthand from displaced and directly affected persons, the traumatic impact of such an event, and how important community is. Bless and protect those who work so hard to protect us and our homes, plus the natural world and its creatures. https://www.praymorenovenas.com/novena-for-firefighters **Many thanks to Mish who alerted the need for prayers. ***Special remembrance and gratitude fo family members who have investigated fires and/or fought them: Phil, Tim, Jeff, Pete and Quintin. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209802 Sun, 03 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Trailer Loaned Our own trailer wasn't ready this weekend, so the guy who is building it loaned us one of his own. When we loaded up to come home we discovered that the electrics on it weren't working properly - dangerous and fineable if we were stopped. No electricity at the track and getting dark. One of the guys there opened up a garage space he had access to and allowed us to make the repairs there, lending us tools and good spirits until we were finally able to set off home. Very grateful indeed that he was willing to stay with us so late on a Saturday night when I'm sure he had other things to do. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209798 Sun, 03 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Firewood We all have a friend who hasn't got it together, right? I have a friend like that, who never has firewood come winter. Firewood costs either money or effort and when it's cold or rainy I'm not inclined to give mine away. I've come with a plan. I've now finished collecting all the litter in my immediate vicinity on my morning walks, so I've switched to filling my bag with pieces of wood. We've had woodies in recently clearing land so there are loads of small pieces they couldn't be bothered with there for the taking. I figure that if I collect a bag each time I walk, by the time next winter comes around I'll have enough that I'll feel more enthusiastic about giving it away. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=209799 Sun, 03 May 2026 00:00:00 -0700
