The house was 31 degrees C at night so I was beginning to feel unwell. The following day I mentioned it and she kindly offered it.  What a relief, I managed to get some work done there as I had taken my computer, and enjoyed a lovely treat at the cafe :-)... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210037 Sat, 19 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Offered A Flag Hoisting Opportunity Offered a flag hoisting opportunity to a village woman! On the occasion of Independence Day, We were organizing a celebration program in a community ground. And we were about to hoist the flag at that moment a village woman came to us and requested for flag hoisting. She had very deep feelings for this and looked very excited. So we have to stop our guests and give her an opportunity to flag hoisting. And we invited her with respect to the hoist flag. To hear this, her eyes filled with tears and emotions. She hoisted the flag very proudly and gave a very inspiring speech. She also thanked us for this opportunity. We also felt very happy and proud. Thanks.. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210036 Sat, 19 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Back To School: School Supply Donation Drive It is almost Back to School time, which is the day after Labour Day, in most parts of Canada. I saw a post asking people to donate school supplies, like notebooks, paper, pens, markers, rulers, glue, and similar items. I went to buy some items and dropped them off yesterday.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210027 Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Keeping a truck driver hydrated. I live in Australia and although it is our "winter" we are having some really warm days, which is lovely. Today the garbage truck stopped opposite our home and the driver got out for a break, I took him over a can of soft drink as it is so important to keep hydrated and it was an unusually warm day for this time of the year.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210022 Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 A Heartwarming Update Of A Premature Twin Baby I want to share a very heartwarming update my wife received from the father of twin babies born in November 2025. Back in November last year, my wife received a request from a stranger that one of the twin babies was facing serious health problems due to a suspected blockage in his intestine. My wife told me we should contribute some money, but she also helped raise additional money from her contacts with a post on milaap.org. Even then, her total contribution fell short of the ask. Today's update from the father reads: "I wanted to share a happy update about Suvin. He recently underwent his second surgery, and by God's grace, it was successful. He is doing well now and has recovered nicely. We are finally back home with him. Thanks for the support and your prayers", along with the photo of his babies on his lap. The news made our day.... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210025 Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 ❀️ Circles Of Kindness 🧢 Was surprised by someone that I had gifted 3 baby blankets I crocheted for his three infant grandchildren…. Not long after he had come by to pick up the blankets , he returned with his wife to gift us some fruits from his garden (peaches πŸ‘ & grapes πŸ‡ ) His wife loved the baby blankets & wondered if I might crochet something for her. I happily agreed to 😊 When she said she’d pay for the yarn, I said “we’ll see”, knowing I would tell her to “pay it forward”….. I crochet to give away. It’s a gift for her as well as a gift for me , as I love to crochet & it’s very calming for me 🫢🏽 ❀️ A crochet “circle of kindness” ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210026 Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700 Volunteering At The Park Yesterday I voluteered in the park talking to people about the wildlife mammals that live there. We see deer, racoons, prarie dogs, mountain lions, and bears. We use fake and real skulls, rubber paw prints and scat, and real pelts to show their size and if they are herbivores, carnivores, or omnivores. We give suggestions for being safe around animals and tips for living near them as many people in the neighborhoods here do. THEN early this morning my dog wanted to get a drink and we were up as the motion sensor light came on and I looked up and saw this big bear walk by!!!! The outside camera captured it as it rounded the corner. Glad I was on the other side of the windows. Living with wildlife means learning about them. I am happy I can help people and animals share a space. ... http://helpothers.org/story.php?sid=210024 Sat, 12 Sep 2026 00:00:00 -0700
